In this blog we will learn some important tips and practices to follow for good personal hygiene from Prof. Dr. Kishwar Sultana.

Keeping the Vaginal Area Clean: It’s important to keep the vaginal area clean to prevent infections. After every urinastion, use warm water and mild fragrance-free soap to wash the area. Avoid using any scented products as they contain harmful chemicals which can upset the natural balance of bacteria and lead to infections.

Changing Sanitary Pads in Time: When menstruating, it’s important to change your sanitary pads or tampons regularly to prevent bad odor and infections. It’s recommended to change every 3 to 5 hours, depending on the flow. It is recommended to use proper sanitary products. If you are using clothes during your menstruation, it is essential that you wash them properly and dry them under the sun before using.

Preventing UTI by Not Holding Urine for a Long Time: Holding urine for too long can lead to a urinary tract infection (UTI). It’s important to empty your bladder completely every time you use the bathroom and not to hold it for too long.

Staying Hydrated by Drinking Enough Water: Drinking enough water is essential for maintaining good personal hygiene. It helps flush out toxins from the body and keeps the skin and hair hydrated and healthy.

Maintaining a Proper Diet and Healthy Eating Habits: Eating a healthy diet can also help with personal hygiene. Include plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins in your diet. Avoid excessive consumption of sugary and processed foods as they can lead to bad breath, body odor, and other health issues.

By following these simple tips and practices, you can maintain good personal hygiene and lead a healthy and confident life.
